The Venus of Willendorf is one of numerous similarly shaped, uniquely feminine, statuettes dating to the Upper Paleolithic Period (circa 20000 to 30000 BC) .The Naturhistorisches Museum in Vienna, recently celebrated the 100th anniversary of the discovery at Willendorf, where a new museum has also recently been opened.
